High school offensive and defensive linemen from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, New York and Canada all merged to Dayton, Ohio and Enhance U for the Blockers O-Line Academy Big Man Camp this past Monday. We look at some of the top performers in our recap.

DEFENSIVE LINE MVP

McAdrian Martin
Cincinnati, Ohio
Woodward High School
Class of 2020

Martin used his speed and quickness to cause problems for all offensive tackles willing to lineup against him. From position drills into one-on-one competition, Martin was a force to be reckoned with and was an easy choice for Defensive Line MVP when all was said and done. While undersized at 5-foot-10, 201-pounds, Martin can move around to several positions and make plays.

OFFENSIVE LINE MVP

Jalen Bowens
Reynoldsburg, Ohio
Reynoldsburg High School
Class of 2020

Bowens is a true center with his 6-foot, 260-pound frame and showed great technique work all day long. No matter who lined up against him, Bowens was up to the task winning most of his one-on-one reps. The ability to snap and get low against defensive linemen plays to his advantage. Add in his strength and quick feet, someone is going to get a steal when they sign Bowens.

OTHER DEFENSIVE LINEMEN

Kyle Weingartner
West Chester, Ohio
Lakota West High School
Class of 2020
6-0 235

We knew of Weingartner as an offensive lineman, so this was a treat to see him on the other side of the ball. Showed toughness and the ability to beat offensive linemen on majority of his reps to make the Final Five.

Antonio Mitchell
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
Bloomfield Hills High School
Class of 2021
5-10 / 235

Mitchell is strong and quick with a great burst off the line that causes problems for offensive linemen. Because of his height, he’ll get overlooked but is athletic enough to get looks for other positions.

Tywan January
Huber Heights, Ohio
Wayne High School
Class of 2022
5-11 250

January is flat out explosive and he knows it. This is not the first time we’ve seen him as we caught him in action this past season for the Warriors. Great at taking away linemen hands by getting inside position. Has several spin moves and sometimes relies on them too often when he could use his quick first step and leverage.

Nathan Reichert
Lewistown, Ohio
Indian Lake High School
Class of 2020
6-3 240

The surprise of the group was Reichert as we’ve not had a chance to see him in the past. While he took reps on the edge, his future will need to be more of an inside player. Could also see a move to the offensive line as he’s athletic enough to become a high performer as a guard/center at the college level.

OTHER OFFENSIVE LINEMEN

Ryan Liams
Springboro, Ohio
Springboro High School
Class of 2021
6-2 / 250

Insider guy at the next level, Liams moves extremely well while doing a great job of setting up a base and using solid technique. Solid punch to go with toughness serves him well. Should continue to improve.

Max Harris
Toronto, Ontario
West Toronto Prep School
Class of 2022

Harris came along way to compete with several of his teammates from West Toronto Prep. While still raw, Harris showed an advanced skill set in pass-pro that moved him to the Top Five before the day was over.

Tyus Thompson
Powell, Ohio
Olentangy Liberty High School
Class of 2020
6-3 / 285

While everyone talks about teammate Ben Wrather, Thompson can also play at the next level. Inside player with solid pass-pro skill set who understands getting hands and feet in position to fight off a rush.

Ben Wrather
Powell, Ohio
Olentangy Liberty High School
Class of 2020
6-5 / 285

Wrather continues to rack up offers and show well in camp settings. Can play inside or on the edge, Wrather continues to improve technique with each camp we see him at. Does great job of setting a base and keeping his balance. Must continue to work on edge speed rushers.
