Former National Football League defensive tackle Keith Rucker continues giving back with two “FREE” youth football and cheer camps.

Currently the defensive line coach at Capital University, Rucker was a three-sport standout at Shaker Heights (Ohio) high school before heading to Ohio Wesleyan where played football along with track and field.

Prior to earning his degree in 1992, Rucker earned All-American honors in football three times and an impressive seven times in track and field, making his 14 total All-American honors the most ever by a Battling Bishop student-athlete.

Rucker would sign with the Phoenix Cardinals in 1992 and spend two seasons with the Cardinals before spending the 1993 and 1994 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. He would finish his career with stops in Washington and Kansas City.

In 2004, Rucker established the Reach 4 The Sky Foundation, to give children the same life-learning opportunities afforded to him.

Each summer, the Reach 4 The Sky Foundation conducts a “FREE” summer football and cheerleading camp for students between the ages of 6-14.

With camps scheduled in Cincinnati (May 25-26) and Chicago (July 13-14), Rucker and his team provide two days of non-contact football drills teaching football and team skills from Rucker and a talented group of coaches.

The Cheerleading Spirit Camp is also for ages 6-14 and teaches the fundamentals of cheerleading and provide a look into the art of spirit through dance.

The Cincinnati event will be held at Princeton High School from 8 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.

The Chicago event will be held at the Matteson Community Center on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 8 a.m. until Noon.
