It was a great weekend of high school football in Southwest Ohio and FirstStarFootballReport.com is excited to present the First Star Logistics Player of the Week for Week One of the regular season.
Our focus is placed on Southwest Ohio looking at performances in the Dayton and Cincinnati areas on offense and defense. You get one vote for each side of the line of scrimmage so make sure to scroll down and vote for an offensive player and a defensive player.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Here are the nominations for Offensive Player of the Week for Week One of the 2019 season.
QB: Connor Kinnett – Harrison HS
Kinnett had a big night in the air and on the ground against Vandalia Butler in a 38-6 win. On the night, Kinnett threw for five touchdowns on 23-30 for 344 yards while also rushing for 40 yards.
QB: Evan Prater – Wyoming HS
The future Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback played a major role as the Cowboys continue their winning ways in a 40-7 win over Columbus Academy. In the air Prater connected on just over 76% (13-of-17) of his throws for 217 yards and two touchdowns while adding 89 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
QB: Cade Rice – Greenon HS
Only a junior, Rice is a name to watch as he had a huge night with 337 yards passing and four touchdowns while also rushing for 160 yards and two scores in the Knights 56-39 win over Springfield Shawnee.
RB: Josh Bryant – Middletown HS
The junior running back rushed 10 times for 202 yards and three touchdowns in the Middies 49-0 win over Western Hills.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Here are the nominations for Defensive Player of the Week for Week One of the 2019 season.
LB: Matthew Devine – St. Xavier HS
The junior linebacker posted 12 total tackles in helping the Bombers to a 38-17 win over Brownsburg (Ind.) High School.
LB: Jaylen Thomas – Colerain HS
The senior linebacker posted 11 total tackles (8 solo) in the Cardinals 28-19 win over Huber Heights Wayne.
LB: Clay Payton – Jamestown Greeneview HS
The senior linebacker was the top performer for the Rams in a losing effort against Stebbins High School with 17 total tackles.
DL: Isaiah Goodrum – Xenia HS
The junior defensive lineman posted 15 total tackles in a tough 21-20 loss against Beavercreek.
