The games are starting to mean more as teams fight for championships and their place in the playoffs. The following players put together big defensive performances in helping their teams win in Week Seven.

Jaden Hurd – Wayne

The junior safety posted 13 total tackles (11 solo) in the Warriors 63-20 win over Beavercreek.

Trey Baker – Fairmont

The senior linebacker posted 13 total tackles (4 solo), forced a fumble and had an interception with an 18-yard return in a 28-20 win over Centerville.

Jokell Brown – Springfield

The Wildcats are one of the best defensive teams First Star Football Report has seen this season and it was Brown who paced them in an impressive shutout over then undefeated Springboro 23-0. Brown posted seven total tackles with 2.5 sacks in the win.

Qai Williams – Sycamore

The junior defensive end posted nine solo stops with three sacks in the Aves 15-0 win over Middletown.

Noah Taylor – St. Xavier

The senior posted seven total tackles (3 solo) to go with two sacks and a fumble recovery he returned for a 57-yard score in the Bombers 44-6 win over Clarkson North – Canada.

Brandon Smith – Fairfield

The junior defensive lineman posted six total tackles (4 solo) with 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble in a 37-13 win over Princeton.
