The dream continued for Joe Burrow on Thursday night when the Cincinnati Bengals selected the LSU quarterback with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
A standout prep career at Athens High School led Burrow to Ohio State in the 2015 recruiting class. After three seasons, Burrow stepped away with his degree in hand and headed to the SEC and Louisiana State University where the former Ohio Mr. Football would turn the college football world upside down in his second season leading the Tigers to a 15-0 record, SEC Championship and National Championship while earning the highest honor in college football, the Heisman Trophy.
Being selected by the Bengals brings Burrow back to his home state where he’ll look to help the Bengals turn the franchise around under second year head coach Zac Taylor after a 2-14 mark last season.
Expectations we be high for Burrow to bring early success, however, Burrow has shown he fully capable of handling the pressure.
Who else will the Bengals draft?
