SENIOR SAMMY ANDERSON COULD BE KEY TO A TROTWOOD-MADISON WIN
#4 BADIN VS #7 TROTWOOD-MADISON at Miamisburg HS
After a rough start with back-to-back losses to open the season, Badin finished going 7-1 with a Week Seven loss to Chaminade Julienne.
Trotwood-Madison opened the season with a loss to Winton Woods then ran off seven consecutive wins including six against Division One teams before dropping back-to-back games to close the season. Those losses came against two Division One Region 2 playoff teams Springboro and Springfield.
Both teams can be called Ram Tough and this game makes for an interesting match-up as both teams can play defense and both with similar offensive success.
Badin senior quarterback Zach Switzer has been solid throwing the ball with 1,521 yards and 17 touchdowns with only four interceptions. Senior running back Alex DeLong brings 1,168 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns and Joshua Hegemann brings 675 receiving yards and 11 scores to round out the Badin offense.
Trotwood-Madison counters with junior quarterback Cooper Stewart with 1,533 yards and 16 touchdowns with only four interceptions while also rushing for six scores. But the key to the Rams offense will be the success of Hezekiah Hudson-Davis (1,109 yds, 11 TDs) and Keon’tae Huguely (386 yds, 4 TDs) who can throw the ball if needed.
Senior linebacker Ke’shawn Huguely (78 tackles, 5 sacks) is joined by fellow senior defensive back Quentin Davis (67 tackles) are the leaders of the Trotwood-Madison defense. They will be tasked with stopping Badin’s offense that has scored 84 points during the playoffs.
However, the player to watch who can change the game in all phases is Sammy Anderson who recently gave Cincinnati his verbal pledge.
Badin will look to stop an offense that has scored 74 points so far in the playoffs with senior linebackers Evan Schlensker (79 tackles) and Keegan Gormley (69 tackles) in charge of slowing the Trotwood-Madison offense.
