On Thursday, First Star Football Report covered the Cincinnati Public Schools football combine that was well attended by college coaches at the Division II, Division III and NAIA levels.

One of the players that caught the eye of many of the coaches in attendance was Taft athletes AJ Lowe.

Lowe, who stands 6-foot-3, 205-pounds entered the day an unknown but left feeling good about his overall performance.

“Today, to be honest was a good day for me,” said Lowe. “In the past I’ve attended a few combined and never felt I performed that well. But today, I felt I had a good day and worked hard. All my times were better today.”

With a goal of taking his game to the college level, the event allowed Lowe and many others to showcase their talents.

“I feel I showed coaches how hard I can work,” he said. “I can stay focused and know that is important as you never know who is watching you.”

With the ability to excel on both sides of the ball, Lowe has a feeling where college coaches could be looking at him.

“I feel I’ll mostly be a defensive player at the college level,” he said.

As for camps, Lowe is undecided currently as to where he’ll head this summer.
