Marshall Lang Offered by Northwestern

First Star Football Report has Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier tight end Marshall Lang rated as one of the top tight ends in Ohio.

However, while several programs offered the 6-foot-4, 225-pound tight end, Power Five programs waited until camp season to get a closer look at Lang as he had physically developed over the course of the past year.

Following camps at Indiana, Pittsburgh and Northwestern, Wildcats head coach Pat Fitzgerald wasted little time in pulling the trigger giving Lang an offer following his camp performance on Friday.

“It’s all very exciting and words can’t explain it,” said Lang. “Coach Fitzgerald came up to me and was very welcoming. We went to his office and talked about everyday stuff before we got into more football talk.

“He then congratulated me and said they were offering me a full scholarship to Northwestern. I had a big smile on my face and was very happy and excited. He didn’t place any pressure on me and told me I was at the top of their list and wanted me to talk things over with my parents about the offer.”

Could the Wildcats pull in another top Ohio prospect in the Class of 2020?

First Star Football Report would not be surprised if Lang added his name to the Wildcats recruiting class in the coming days.
