Miyan Williams Staying Humble

Winton Woods head coach Andre Parker found a team effort help the Warriors win another Division II Region 8 title with a 52-20 win over Anderson on Friday night at Lakota West’s Firebird Stadium.

One of the reasons Parker and his coaching staff always have a smile on their faces is junior running back Miyan Williams who enjoyed another great night running the ball.

While the temperature might have been cold, Williams remained hot despite having two long touchdowns runs called back by questionable penalties.

Continuing his assault on the Winton Woods record book, Williams added another 172 yards to go with three second half scores.

Following the game, First Star Football Report spoke with Williams about his game and thoughts about his recruiting at this stage of the process.

SIDE NOTE ON WILLIAMS: Mike Dyer from WCPO posted prior to Friday nights game that Williams now holds Winton Woods career rushing record and single season rushing record. Both marks were previously held by Brandon Miree who would go on to play his college ball at Pittsburgh and be drafted in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. Williams entered the game against Anderson with 4,576 career rushing yards including 2,590 yards this season.
