For Powell (Ohio) Olentangy Liberty junior offensive lineman Carter Smith, he’s dreamed of the experiences being recruited by colleges would bring.
After watching his brother go through the process under the Covid induced NCAA dead period the past year, Smith was excited as he counted down the days to April 15th and the end of the current dead period.
However, Thursday, talk of the NCAA extending the dead period until the end of May or even longer made him act with a heartfelt post to social media as to why the NCAA should rethink keeping prospects off Division One facilities.
