At the time, Hubbard was committed to play lacrosse for the University of Notre Dame not thinking his future could be in football. As I told Hubbard following the Crusaders 35-14 win, he needed to accept the fact his future was in football and not lacrosse.
Soon Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer told Hubbard the same offering him a scholarship in the process.
After redshirting for the Buckeyes his freshman while still looking for a position, Hubbard soon found a home at defensive end playing in 40 games, posting 116 tackles and 17 sacks.
Making the decision to enter the 2018 NFL Draft with eligibility remaining, Hubbard would get a major surprise when he was selected by the hometown Cincinnati Bengals in the 3rd round (Pick #77).
