The Panthers went on the road and were impressive in their 34-7 win over Mason. The Panthers posted 398 total yards of total offense while giving up 195 total yards to the Comets. Many felt Mason could be a team capable of being a contender for the GMC title so this could prove to be a big win in helping the Panthers down the road in computer points.
Kettering Alter Knights
The Knights, a Division Three program, played up against Division One program and crosstown rival Kettering Fairmont, a team they’ve suffered back-to-back season opening losses to the past two seasons. In their 21-7 win the Knights look to be a team that could make a strong run towards the playoffs with the running attack of Branden McDonald and Kale Steneman.
Indian Hill Braves
After falling behind 14-0 to New Richmond in the first quarter, Indian Hill stormed back posting 48 straight points before giving up another score in the fourth quarter. Big game by Tre Lopez with four touchdowns rushing and two passing.
Chaminade Julienne Eagles
The Eagles had no problem playing up against Division Two program Piqua coming away with a 28-7 win. Marquis Henry rushed for 173 yards and one touchdown while Ryan Minor passed for 238 yards and two scores.
La Salle Lancers
The Lancers hosted Lakota West and their new head coach Tom Bolden with all eyes on both teams. In the end the Lancers proved way too much as they knocked off the Firebirds 31-7. Northwestern pledge Cam Porter pushed for 108 yards and one touchdown.
The Cardinals went on the road to Huber Heights Wayne playing in the Backyard Blitz and came away with an impressive 28-19 win over the Warriors. Hamzah Abdul-Waheed rushed for two scores on 73 yards and Freddie Johnson passed for a touchdown and rushed for one.
